FOB Class Representative

What is a FOB Class Representative (Class Rep)?

Class representatives (Class Reps) are volunteer parents who represent all parents in a particular year. They liaise between parents of the class, the teacher and Friends of Beaumont (FOB), to provide the collective voice of the year in relation to FOB activities and pursuits. They also act as a friendly point of contact for parents with children in that year group. Ideally for each class there will be two class reps who will work together to carry out the duties required across the year.

What do class reps do?

Responsibilities may vary each year, but you can expect to lead on the following:

  • Join the class Whatsapp group in order to send out FOB comms to the rest of the class parents

  • Promote FOB events and activities to parents in the class

  • Promote FOB sponsored posts to parents in the class

  • Be the collective voice of the class to FOB (ask parents for input on various topics and share feedback as required)

  • Ask other parents for one-off offers of assistance for events (such as staffing a stall at a fair)

  • Support the FOB committee in arranging the school fairs and events (this could involve things like organising a class stall eg. coconut shy, beat the goalie, arts & crafts etc and a class hamper for the raffle)

  • Talk to class teachers regarding what items they would like FOB to fund for their class and feedback to the FOB committee

  • Attend open FOB meetings, including the AGM

  • Arrange social get-togethers for parents in the class

  • Update FOB if the class rep is changing and help to find a replacement
